What is covered by Cruise Travel Insurance?
Cruises are a little different than other types of holidays, so a specialist travel insurance policy can cover you for the unique risks that only happen at sea.
As well as all the coverage you'd expect from a standard policy (things like cancellation cover, emergency medical expenses), Cruise Travel Insurance can cover you for:
Cabin Confinement
Covers you if you are told by the cruise medical officer to remain confined in your cabin. You could claim up to £50 every 24 hours up to a limit of £500, if you're in your cabin for longer than 48 hours.
Itinerary Change
This covers you for every port missed because of adverse weather or timetable change, up to £100 per port.
Unused Excursions
Cover for any pre-paid excursions due to cabin confinement, illness or injury. The amount you can claim varies depending on the level of coverage you choose. If you choose a Classic policy, you could claim up to £300 or with a Deluxe policy you could claim up to £500 for any missed or unused excursions.
Cruise Interruption
Covers you if you fall ill and have to leave the cruise ship for medical treatment. It can cover up to £1000 for the cost of extra accommodation and travel so you can rejoin your cruise at the next available port.
Emergency Evening Wear
Cover for your evening wear in the unfortunate case they are damaged, stolen or lost. We could cover up to £100 for the cleaning cost or hire replacement cost of the damaged, lost or stolen item.
